South Artist Wins in Congressional Competition

South High School junior Maya Alschuler-Pierce has been recognized as a second-place award winner for New York State’s 4th District Congressional District Art Competition. The 2020 event was held online in light of the pandemic. 

Maya and her teacher Edward Lee are invited to participate in a virtual reception hosted by Congresswoman Kathleen Rice and her staff on June 17. Winners will have the opportunity to present and explain their submissions.
