Central High School in the Valley Stream Central High School District brought the rock-musical “Godspell” to its school stage from Feb. 6-8. The performances, directed and choreographed by teacher Patrick Tirino, drew rave reviews from students, parents, faculty and community members.
Based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew, and featuring a sparkling score by Stephen Schwartz, “Godspell” boasts a string of well-loved songs, including the international hit, “Day By Day.”

Drawing from various theatrical traditions, such as clowning, pantomime, charades, acrobatics and vaudeville, “Godspell” is a unique reflection on the life of Jesus, with a message of kindness, tolerance and love.

The student cast brought the musical to life with exceptional performances of songs, including “All for the Best,” “Learn Your Lessons Well” and “By My Side.”
