Valley Stream Central High School celebrated its 2015 homecoming with a football game and annual parade on Sept. 26. The stands at Fireman’s Field were filled with school spirit as students and other members of the community cheered on the Eagles in their match against the Herricks Highlanders.

The parade featured banners that student organizations created based on a Candyland theme. After marching a lap around the field, the students assembled their bright and creative banners on the fence bordering the sports complex. Homecoming king Mario Birch and queen Natalia Erazo donned their crowns, which were presented during a pep rally on the evening prior to the game.

The game kicked off with a supportive audience and, although it did not end in a win, provided for an action-packed afternoon that brought the community together. Halftime festivities included a performance by the Central High School dance team, The Streamers, and the marching band provided musical entertainment throughout the event.
