The Valley Stream Central High School District will hold its annual Residency Advisory Committee meeting on Monday, Nov. 23 at 8:30 a.m. in the District Office Board Room located at One Kent Road. All interested community members are welcome to attend. Key participants will include administrators from each of the elementary districts, as well as Board of Education members and village representatives.

The district works in partnership with town and village officials to identify any cases of students attending the community’s public schools who reside in illegal apartments or do not hold residence within the district boundaries. VSCHSD uses a proactive approach to inform all new registrants of the repercussions of such actions.

“Our priority is providing students in the district with the highest quality education possible and offering opportunities that will help them achieve success,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Bill Heidenreich. “In adhering to our commitments and goals, it is important to ensure that we abide by our residency policies. In doing so, we are protecting our taxpayers’ interests and ensuring that our resources are being delivered fairly to those who are entitled.”

To report suspected illegal attendance, please call our Residency Hotline at 872-5677. Anyone may anonymously report suspicion that a student is illegally attending school at Central High, North High, South High, Memorial Junior High, or in Districts 13 or 24.
