Valley Stream Students Explore Art Around the World

Valley Stream Central High School and Memorial Junior High School collaborated to present an international art show on Dec. 16 and 17. World language students from both buildings gathered in the CHS library, where they had the opportunity to visit various tables and view replicas of art pieces from a variety of geographic locations.

The Caribbean, France, Italy, Latin America and Spain were among the areas represented, and artwork from deaf artists for the American Sign Language program was also displayed.

The students spent time prior to this event studying the art and artists, and drew upon the information that they learned in their world language classes to complete speaking and writing tasks.
