Talented students from throughout the Valley Stream Central High School District presented the 59th annual District Music Festival on March 11, held in Central High School’s Keller Auditorium. As in years past, proceeds from the event’s ticket sales went toward scholarships, for which winners were announced as a highlight to the evening.

Members of the District Festival Symphonic Orchestra, Mixed Chorus and Concert Band were selected via auditions of the student musicians of Valley Stream Central, North and South high schools as well as Memorial Junior High School.

Central High School student Annie Fitzgerald, North High School student Morgan Foster and South High School student Allyce Yang were honored as this year’s recipients of the district’s annual music scholarships, which recognize graduating seniors who have excelled throughout their music careers in the district.

The Valley Stream PTA and PTSA Council co-sponsor this annual event in conjunction with the district’s music department.
