Now is the time to secure your spot in the Valley Stream Central High School District’s Adult Education program, set to begin the week of Sept. 26. Mail-in registrations will be accepted any time after Sept. 9, and in-person registration will take place on Monday, Sept. 19, from 7-8 p.m. at Memorial Junior High School’s Cafeteria A. The building is located at 320 Fletcher Avenue in Valley Stream.

The Adult Education program provides opportunities for lifelong learning for members of the community. A variety of courses in exercise, the arts, computers and more are offered in both the fall and spring semesters. Valley Stream also serves as a satellite location for ESL and GED courses offered through Nassau BOCES. All information on these classes can be obtained by phoning Nassau BOCES at 516-622-5623.
Senior citizen Gold Card holders have the opportunity to take most courses for the nominal fee of $15 per course. Gold cards are free, and are available to Valley Stream residents who are 60 years and older. Seniors must apply in person for the gold card and show proof of age and district residency.
