A Hearty Homecoming for South High School

Valley Stream South High School celebrated its annual homecoming festivities on Saturday, Sept. 24. The day featured a number of time-honored traditions, including a festival and parade around the track and an action-filled football game.

The student classes and clubs displayed banners as the marching band provided music. Seniors Justin Cortez and Maya Voytelmgum were crowned 2016 homecoming king and queen.

In the afternoon, the Falcons demonstrated their athletic skill and excellent sportsmanship in a strong game against the Carle Place Frogs. Applause and cheers rang from the bleachers in support of South High School throughout the four quarters.

Halftime served as a homecoming highlight and showcase of student talent.

The colorguard, cheerleaders, kickline, step squad and marching band presented outstanding performances that boosted school spirit and community pride among spectators.
