Wesley Tsai Named National Merit Commended Student

Valley Stream South High School senior Wesley Tsai was named a National Merit Commended Student based on his Preliminary SAT scores. This distinction is presented through the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955.

Commended Students represent the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the competition by taking the PSAT.

Wesley is an actively involved student with a variety of interests. He is a member of South’s Cross Country Team, Quiz Bowl team, Class Council, National Honor Society and several subject honor societies. A violinist, he performs with the Chamber Orchestra and is a Tri-M Music Honor Society participant.
