North HS Congratulates Coach of the Year

Valley Stream North High School’s head track coach, Michael Frazer, has been honored for his dedication and leadership. He was recently named the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s Boys Track and Field Coach of the Year, and was additionally nominated and selected as Region One Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations, which covers New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.  

Mr. Frazer has been a science teacher in the district for 20 years, 18 of which he has also held coaching roles with the boys and girls winter track, spring track and field and cross country teams, along with co-head coach Tim Boyens.

Under Mr. Frazer’s guidance on the field, North has celebrated a national champion, five state champions, 27 team county champion titles and hundreds of individual county champions. He serves as the Nassau County Sports Coordinator for spring track and field.
