On June 29, eight students from Valley Stream Central High School traveled to Anaheim, California as representatives of New York State at the 2017 National Leadership Conference for the Future Business Leaders of America. Central produced finalists in four out of five events, placing within the nation’s top 15.

The students worked hard all year long, developing skills and acquiring expertise in their respective disciplines. They proved to be dedicated, poised, and professional as they performed individually and in pairs, against upwards of 150 contenders from around the country in each event.
Congratulations to Brian Fanor and Grey Lancaster for earning Finalist designations in the areas of Public Speaking II and Digital Video Production, respectively. Partners Nader Ahmed and Jeenia Zaki placed first and were named National Champions in Business Ethics, and another pair, Sophia Grunin and Gabriella Reyes, placed second in Graphic Design.
