The Valley Stream North High School Spartans took a 35-16 victory over the Roslyn Bulldogs in an exciting 2017 homecoming game on Sept. 16. Spectators and cheerleaders were filled with spirit as they rooted for their home team.

As is a tradition at North, a Varsity Breakfast honored senior athletes. A parade presented banners created by and representative of students in grades 7-11, all based on this year’s “Around the World” theme. The classes displayed their well-designed, carefully constructed banners in a friendly competition that was won by the ninth-graders.

The game kicked off at 2 p.m. and included a halftime show that featured the cheerleaders, kickline and marching band. The bleachers were packed with fans wearing green in support of North.

A pep rally was held the day prior and included the crowning of Shane Johnson and Megan Restivo as homecoming king and queen. A dance followed later that evening.
