On January 19, four students from Central High School competed at the Future Business Leaders of America's Nassau County District Meeting. Students from all over Long Island participated in a variety of events, and Central was once again very successful.

Lauren Wright placed second in Public Speaking 1. She spoke about the steps she took to overcome her fear of public speaking. Alana Moy placed second in Public Speaking 2, with a speech about her experiences as a union member in the Screen Actors Guild. Courtney Chamblin placed first in Basic Decision Making by solving a business scenario given to her on the spot. Safiyyah Savage completed the last round of interviews and passed the State Officer Exam. She will be running for the office of FBLA State Vice President for District 1N during elections scheduled for April at the State convention. All of the Central students have qualified to compete at States in their respective events.
