Two Valley Stream Central High School students had their talents and skills recognized in the Photographer's Forum Magazine High School Contest. Senior Nyallah Abrahams and junior Aaron Torres and were both named finalists in this high school competition, which is open to student photographers around the world.

Nyallah and Aaron are guaranteed to have their work published in the Photographer's Forum Best of Photography 2018 book in June. Both of their photographs were taken in New York City subway stations and feature friends of the artists.

Both students have a passion for photography. Nyallah has taken Photography 1 and Advanced Photography at Central. She placed second in the Monochromatic category of the Photographic Federation of Long Island Youth Showcase contest last year and, as a result, had her piece exhibited at the Photographic Society of America National Youth Showcase. Aaron came into Photography 1 completely self-taught. He photographs on his own outside of school and is also interested in working in programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
