Valley Stream Schools Ranked Among the Best by U.S. News and World Report

The Valley Stream Central High School District is proud to announce that both Central High School and South High School have been included on U.S. News and World Report’s 2018 Best High Schools list. Both received silver medals as a result of how well they prepare students for college, coupled with students’ performance on state-required tests and graduation rates.

U.S. News and World Report reviewed a total of 20,548 public high schools across the nation and narrowed the number down based on a multistep process. Of the 5,948 public high schools across the nation that made the Best High Schools rankings, Central and South placed at No. 894 and No. 929, respectively. In New York State, Central comes in at No. 90 and South is No. 95. 

All the district’s schools provide an assortment of opportunities and prepare students for college and careers.
