South High School freshmen Angela Lee and Zoe Minor won first and second prizes in the New York International Music Concours audition held at Eastern Music School in Little Neck in May. Now, they are preparing to take the stage at Lincoln Center on June 16 during a winner’s recital.

For the audition, Angela played “Romance in F Major” by Beethoven and Zoe performed “Concerto in G Minor” by Vivaldi. Both are violinists and have participated in the District Music Festival, NYSSMA and the Long Island Music Festival. Angela was also selected as an All-County student. They are members of the orchestra at South, directed by Elizabeth Klamkin.
