The Valley Stream Central High School District hosted another successful Summer Music Enrichment Program in July and early August, with many opportunities for students to explore and develop their musical interests and talents. Musicians in the Central High School District as well as the three elementary school districts acquired new knowledge, gained greater appreciation for music and practiced various techniques and genres over the five weeks that classes were offered.

Students participated in their choice of band, chorus and/or strings sessions led by faculty members on weekday mornings. Those entering grades 7-12 attended workshops at Central High School, while fourth- through sixth-grade lessons were held at Wheeler, Robert W. Carbonaro, and Shaw Avenue elementary schools.

Additionally, music students and staff members shared their talents with the community during the 66th annual Summer Concert Series, which featured band and orchestra concerts in July and August.
