At its Aug. 28 meeting, the Valley Stream Central High School District Board of Education approved a contract with the Wisdom Protective Services security firm. David Buxbaum will serve as the district’s Director of Security on behalf of the firm and oversee all four school buildings.

This appointment was made as part of the district’s ongoing, longstanding safety and security plans. In 2017-18, three Supervisory Aides were added to serve the buildings with open campus policies. The 2018-19 budget expanded these efforts with further enhancements, as security is a growing matter of concern nationwide.

A retired detective and longtime law enforcement professional, Mr. Buxbaum previously worked with the New York City Police Department. There he conducted investigations, managed cases, trained teams of detectives, supervised IT engineers, and designed applications to document case investigations and analyze enforcement activity for effectiveness.

Wisdom Protective Services aims to provide safe, secure, peaceful and organized environments for its clients by providing reliable, consistent and professional individuals who are dedicated to their duties and can make the right decisions in a challenging situation. The firm serves schools and colleges, parks and recreation facilities, towns and municipalities, government buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, construction sites and parking lots and garages.
