Memorial Stomps Out Bullying

Memorial Junior High School students took the opportunity to put their foot down and prevent bullying. On Oct. 1, observed as Stomp Out Bullying Day, blue “stop bullying” bracelets were distributed to all who entered the building in the morning. Video announcements shared highlights from last year’s Sweethearts and Heroes assembly, which emphasized the importance of being an upstander and not a bystander. Each first period teacher then asked students to fill out kindness cards. Students and faculty wrote down different ways that they can be kind. The BRAVE Club, under the guidance of Amanda Milano, created a gorgeous display in the main lobby to remind us each day to “throw kindness around like confetti.” Everyone was also asked to wear blue in honor of the day.
