Memorial Junior High School held its annual Stand Up Day event on Nov. 21.

With the help of Central's Brave club, led by Joann Hundermark, and Memorial's World of Difference club, advised by Coreen Kelly, students from both schools engaged in a meaningful discussion about how people can all find the courage to stand up for one another when help is needed.

The Brave students demonstrated their leadership abilities as they helped to organize discussions and create appropriate scenarios for group discussions. Memorial's students benefited greatly from the wisdom the high school students shared about overcoming bullying and helping one another. This special event is held annually in the Memorial library in remembrance of Mrs. Stephanie Ginsberg, a former health teacher from Memorial who spearheaded the Brave club in both schools.
