At the 52nd Annual Gridiron Awards Dinner for Nassau County Football, several Valley Stream North High School student athletes were recognized for outstanding contributions and the team was honored with a service award.

Senior Joe Munson was named the top Scholar-Athlete/Football player in Nassau County by the Nassau County Chapter of the National Football Foundation. He was presented a plaque by former NFL quarterback Jay Fiedler on behalf of the National Football Foundation. Joe represents the core values that are represented at North; RESPECT, INTEGRITY, and KINDNESS. Joe, who was named to the 2018 All-County Football Team, as well as the 2018 Academic All-County Team. He was also a Finalist for the Kessenich Award which is presented to the Top Multi-Sport Student-Athlete in the county.

Junior Running Back Timothy Hutchinson was named to the 2018 All-County Football Team and was also among the county's Thorp Award nominees. The Thorp Award is presented to Nassau County’s best football player.

Senior Benjamin Fuoco earned the Long Island Association of Football Officials Unsung Hero Award for North.

Finally, the varsity football team earned the Nassau County High School Football Coaches Associations' “Community Service Award” for its 10+ years of service, volunteering and visiting with the kids of St. Mary's Hospital for Children in Bayside, Queens. This is the second time that North Football has won this prestigious award.
