Valley Stream Central High School’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America competed in the first round of competitions on the Nassau County level on Jan. 15 at Hofstra University. There were over 300 students in attendance competing in a variety of events ranging from exams to presentations.  

Once again, Central, performed at a high level. Sophomore Harpawan Singh placed first in the Basic Decisionmaking event and Safiyyah Savage took first place in Job Interview. Riya Ahluwalia and Emmanuel Nwade placed fourth in Public Speaking 1 and 2, respectively. 

These students will be joined by several of their peers for the State competition at Binghamton University this spring.
