Valley Stream South High School’s annual homecoming was a cause for celebration on Sept. 20 and 21. As is tradition at South, students took part in pep rallies, dances, a festival, a parade and a football game with enthusiasm and school spirit.

Following a display of banners with music from the marching band, the second homecoming game on South’s new field kicked off at 2 p.m. Halftime is always an exciting exhibition of talent and unity, and featured the energetic colorguard, cheerleaders, kickline and step squad members, in addition to the band. Seniors Manal Moid and Fritz Jean were crowned 2019 homecoming queen and king.

The Falcons demonstrated athletic aptitude and sportsmanship in a strong game against the Island Trees, and the community came together to cheer for its home team.
