Valley Stream South High School’s Literary Magazine, Trials of Society, has received two prominent awards from the American Scholastic Press Association. Volume 7, the publication’s 2019 edition, earned First Place with Special Merit and Most Outstanding High School Literary-Art Magazine distinctions from the ASPA.

Last year’s Trials of Society participants, co-advised by Lorene Bossong and Michael Florio, developed the publication around a resilience theme. This year, under the guidance of Mr. Florio, Tazein Shah serves as President, Tyler Fouch is Chief Editor and Jade Hornick is Editor.
