Student Shines in Essay Contest

The district is proud to announce that Central High School junior Ashlee Enderica was awarded a $1,000 prize for taking second place in the prestigious “Celebration of Suburban Diversity 2020” essay contest. Her winning essay was titled, “How COVID affected me.”

The contest was sponsored by the National Center for Suburban Studies at Hofstra University and Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Although there will be no award ceremony due to the pandemic, her photo will be included in the programs Virtual Celebration of Suburban Diversity.

The district congratulates Ashlee on this wonderful accomplishment.
