Memorial Junior High School students participated in the Poetry Out Loud virtual schoolwide competition.

The Students Committed to Social Justice Club started off the event reciting the poem “I Can't Breathe Again: A MJHS Community Poem in Honor of George Floyd,” which was compiled by Solomon Akaeze and Victoria Salisan, now students at Central High School.

The school district congratulates winners Morgane Kapto and Nylah Henry, who will move on to the Poetry Out Loud regional competition.
