In the math world, March 14 marks the celebration of pi, which represents the approximate number of 3.14. In celebration, students at Memorial Junior High School participated in pie-eating contests at the end of their lunch periods.

This year, however, the event served as a fundraiser. Students purchased $1 raffle tickets to participate in the pie-eating contest and donated 25 cents to guess how many M&M’s were in a jar. In total, the school raised $145, all of which will go to a local family in need.
