Three of Valley Stream North High School’s Virtual Enterprise students have received full tuition scholarships to LIU Post and will be attending this fall. Congratulations to seniors Dylan Baldessare, Danny Keane and Justin Romano for this outstanding accomplishment, which is the result of their dedication and effort.
The T. Denny Sanford Scholarship was presented to the North students based on their involvement in the Virtual Enterprise class, which was introduced as a pilot program in September. Under the guidance of teacher Joseph Tagliaferro, the course provides students with real-world business exposure that covers all aspects of successfully launching a business. Participants attended the Long Island Virtual Enterprise Business Plan Competition and Trade Show in January at Farmingdale State College, where they earned a second-place award.

The three scholarship recipients look forward to the new opportunities that their achievements will provide. Dylan plans to study finance, Danny will pursue business and Justin will focus on accounting.

“This is an amazing accomplishment for a program that is only in its first year,” said Principal James Bolen. “What a life changing opportunity for our students that came about from work they were doing for that class.”
