VSCHSD Congratulates Six Outstanding Phys. Ed. Students

On Dec. 11, six Valley Stream Central High School District students were recognized as Outstanding Physical Education Students by the New York State Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NYSAHPERD) - Nassau Zone.  The reception, held at the Crest Hollow Country Club, honors one female and one male senior student from each high school in Nassau County.  

Students must be nominated for this distinction by their school’s Health and Physical Education Department based on their demonstration of a physically active and healthy lifestyle, achievement in Physical Education and the Fitnessgram Fitness Assessment, leadership, community service, civility and good sportsmanship. Rebecca Colgan (Central), Adam Birch (Central), Cassie Saracino(North), Theodore Savitt(North), Caitlyn Lopeck (South), and Nicholas Hernandez (South) were this year’s recipients.
