Two South High School students earned awards at the Adelphi Poetry Day Contest, held on May 1 at the Garden City campus. Gabrielle Griffith won the ninth grade contest for her poem, "A Dancer's Lament," while Imman Shah won the twelfth grade contest for her poem, "Sticky Fingers."

Adelphi’s Poetry Day is an annual event that provides workshops, recognitions, an open-mic poetry slam and presentations from professional writers.

Congratulations to Gabrielle and Imman on a job well done!
