Director’s Message

The Adult Education Program is based on the premise that learning is continuous and that people have many interests that both stimulate and relax the mind and the body. Our program is quite diversified and we encourage you to join other community members in an evening of stimulation and excitement. I do hope you will participate in our many different courses.

English as a Second Language

Foreign born residents, 21 years of age or older, may avail themselves of the “English as a Second Language Program, Level 1, 2, 3.” This program is designed to provide foreign-born students with instruction to improve their ability to speak, read and write the English language. After an early assessment, students will be placed in the appropriate class based on their language abilities. High School Equivalency Diploma Program

This program is for all out-of-school students 18 years and older, who are seeking an equivalency diploma. It will be coordinated by the Valley Stream High School District and the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES).
