Course Description

The intention of this course is to expose students to the power of video. Students will understand the impact of video communication on our society. The coursework will provide the students with opportunities to learn techniques and build skills towards the mastery of video editting. In addition, students will learn the various aspects of video production and the miriad of roles involved in professional production. He/she will have the opportunity for individual exploration as well as participating as an effective member of a production team. The collaborative process of video production allows for exposure to team builing and leadership skills.

More and more communication is occuring through video. Video has infilitrated many aspects of industry beyond entertainment to presentation and training. Students will develop skills that will no doubt be practically applied in his/her future. We will use the software package called Movie Maker, which is an introductory Video editing tool for Windows XP (and Vista) computers. Students will also be exposed to Pinnacle Studio.
