Mr. Lee’s Classroom Rules

There are some basic guidelines that each of my students must follow:
1. Always be ready for class when the bell rings: (translation) sitting in your seat with a willingness to learn.
2. If you arrive late to class, you must have a legitimate late pass. You are not allowed to ask for a pass until fifteen minutes into the period and five minutes before the period is over. All teachers in South High School observe this rule.
3. Raise your hand and wait to be called on in class before speaking. There will be no calling out in class. Calling out or using inappropriate language will lead to disciplinary action. Everyone will have a chance to talk at the appropriate time.
4. There will be no eating or drinking in class, since this makes a real mess.
5. Do not write on the desks or deface any school property. Show respect for school property. You must return all materials used during the period. Your work area must be cleared of any materials and trash before the class is over. You must be seated at your seat before dismissal.

 

Class Participation:

My art class demands the interaction among people. Therefore, you will be graded on your classroom participation. After each project, you will be responsible to critique your own art project and the art project of your classmates. This sharing of ideas will help you develop and strengthen your skills as an artist.

Homework:

Yes, there will be homework in art class. However, you will not be given homework assignments everyday. When we work on a project that may call for materials that I cannot provide from school, I will ask you to obtain them from home. Some examples are magazines, family pictures, bottles, cans and other items such as these. I expect you to fulfill your responsibilities on time. Failure to do so will result in a reduction of your grade.
