A Message from Ms. Maureen Henry, Principal

I, along with the South High School community, welcome you to our website. I encourage you to use it as a resource throughout the school year. Our building, which encompasses students from grades 7 through 12, focuses on bringing out the very best in each student both academically and through a variety of extracurricular activities. I urge each student to take advantage of the wonderful opportunities there are to challenge themselves to reach new heights. As the new principal, I am confident that we will accomplish much together and avail ourselves of unprecedented opportunities for student achievement and growth during this coming year. I am very eager to meet each of you and welcome your ideas for the future of our school. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the many exciting academic and extra-curricular events we have planned for this school year.

South High School is committed to a school environment that promotes peace and safety. Wherever our students are - learning in the classroom, acting on the stage, or playing on the field - they are models of respect for all they come in contact with. Our caring teachers are dedicated to providing all the help that each of their students requires to reach their potential. I strongly promote the use of the extra help sessions that are provided on Mondays and Thursdays. I hope that students and their parents participate in all of the activities whether it be sports, the performing arts, or the special events that happen at South High School throughout the year.
